Good nutrition is crucial for our dog's well-being. In the constant search for healthier and more balanced options, we're seeing a growing trend toward wet food as an alternative to traditional kibble, cooked and vacuum-packed and/or frozen.
Another innovative offering we'd like to tell you about is semi-moist feed. At Arquivet, we're focusing on this product in our new FRESH range, featuring products made with fresh meat for a natural and healthy diet.
Semi-moist food not only meets our dogs' nutritional needs, but also offers a more appealing culinary experience, with more flavor and better digestion.
What is semi-moist feed?
Semi-moist dry food is a compromise between dry and wet food. It contains a higher percentage of water than traditional dry food, doubling it to 20% in Arquivet FRESH. This gives it a softer, juicier texture, making it a tasty choice for dogs.
To prepare semi-moist feed, a process similar to that of traditional feed is followed: the fresh ingredients for each recipe are prepared, chopped, and mixed. For Arquivet FRESH, they are steamed slowly and cold-pressed, ensuring they retain the necessary moisture.
The finished product is not extruded to obtain the croquettes, so less processing is required and essential nutrients are better preserved. Once cut, it is packaged and stored for distribution.
Ingredients and flavors
The quality of the ingredients is key to obtaining a good product. Choosing fresh raw materials guarantees proper nutrition. Arquivet FRESH semi-moist feed contains a high content of fresh meat and fish (75%), fruits and vegetables, as well as cereals (gluten-free in the case of FRESH), herbs, and other ingredients (25%), promoting your pet's health and well-being.
Semi-moist dog food can be prepared in a variety of varieties and flavors to suit each dog's unique tastes.
Introduce semi-moist feed
When changing your dog's diet, it's important to introduce the new product gradually. To make the transition to semi-moist food, it's recommended to mix small amounts with their regular food, and then increase the amount of semi-moist food and reduce the amount of traditional food week after week, until you reach 100% semi-moist food. Adjust the amount according to their size and breed. If you have any questions, it's important to consult your veterinarian.
Arquivet FRESH
After the first launch of Arquivet FRESH, featuring fresh fish and free-range turkey, we recently launched new flavors of semi-moist feed: Iberian pork and free-range chicken.

Arquivet FRESH semi-moist feed has a shelf life of 15 months. This is the length of time you can use the product from the moment you open the package until its expiration date. You can also purchase a clip of the ideal size to close the bags in the online store. We recommend storing it in its original sealed packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
